Full Professor at the BioRobotics Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. His research activity is focused on various fields, including small-scale biorobotics, robotic actuators, biomechatronics and micromechatronics for medical applications. He received international recognitions for the development of new actuators for microrobots and was a visiting researcher at Stanford University. Prof. Stefanini was the PI of two European projects, the first addressed to new robotic artefacts, the second aimed at the development of new high-precision, cheap and ecological production technologies for complex parts at the micro level. He is the author or co-author of more than sixty articles in international journals, and of more than seventy articles published in international conference proceedings. He is the inventor of seven international patents, two of which are industrially exploited by leading companies worldwide.

M.Sc. in Business Administration / Management, he is an Official Auditor of Accounts, and expert in “Elements of Accounting” at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pisa, for the course “Labor Law and Public Administration Law”. He received his MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan. Since 2003 he has been working as a Chartered Accountant. He has successfully followed various funding rounds.
